Some updates not syncing from WSUS to SCCM

$

I manually sync'd WSUS today around 1:30 to get all of the new patches.  Everything seemed to go ok, so I then sync'd SCCM with WSUS and again, everything seemed to go ok except this.....  I noticed that MS14-021 was not in my SCCM repository or in WSUS.  I tried a few more sync's but no luck.  I then manaully added 24 patches for MS14-021 into WSUS and that seemed to work, but when I sync with SCCM, I only get 1 syncing.  Security Update for Internet Explorer 10 for Windows Server 2012 (KB2964358) is the only MS14-021 update in SCCM.

Any ideas why I have 24 of them in WSUS and only 1 is coming down to SCCM?

Software Update Error: 0x80004005

We seem to have several clients that can't scan or patch.  In the ScanAgent.log we see:

CScanTool::Execute- Failed at AddUpdateSource, error = 0x80004005

- - - - - -Scan Failed for ToolUniqueID={9A3A916C-C182-4801-A0B3-709F0F172D5B}, with Error=0x80004005

The WUAHandler.log shows:

Unable to find or read WUA Managed server policy.

Unable to read existing WUA Group Policy object. Error = 0x80004005.

Enabling WUA Managed server policy to use server: http://SERVERNAME.Company.COM:80

Failed to Add Update Source for WUAgent of type (2) and id ({9A3A916C-C182-4801-A0B3-709F0F172D5B}). Error = 0x80004005.

These all tend to be various clients in various OU's that have no GPO's related to WSUS.  Other clients in the same OU's are scanning and patching fine.  I have tried to uninstall and reinstall these clients, re-register WUA .dll's, upgrade the WindowsUpdateAgent, and even delete the SoftwareDistribution folder so that it would recreate it.  I still get the same errors.  I know I have had several PCs rebuilt, but that isn't the best solution if there is something else that can be done.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

SQL report showing historical Software Updates remediations

$

Management has asked us to create a report showing the historical Software Updates remediations, IAW, the day that the Jan, 2014 patches were loaded into SUP, and you have a report showing everything is 100% NON-compliant with that particular Patch List, then there could be some numbers, maybe a graph, showing how rapidly this reduced to 0.

Currently, we're using SCCM 2007 SP2 R3 and created a report using the vSMS_G_System_PatchStatusEx view that shows numbers of patch installs for today, yesterday, this week, last week, last month, last quarter, and can do a graph based on that.  But just showing the numbers of patches installed is not exactly the same (to our management) as showing the computers remediated during those periods.  I don't know if there is a way to determine the DATE that a particular computer was compliant with a particular patch list...and not sure that's the exact right approach, either.

Does anyone have some kind of report that shows remediation statistics or trending, selectable by Patch List and OS?

Thanks.

I have a SP2 client that is failing to download the patch content. The client has been repaired, wmi repository rebuilt, software distribution folder rebuilt, and the sccm client has been uninstalled/reboot/installed. The cache folder is not repopulating after the client was installed again after removal. The logs show the following errors. Any ideas on a solution?

Report showing which updates are in which Distribution Point folders

SCCM 2007 SP2 R3.  We're working on Software Updates distribution issues, and are trying to find a way to tell in which Distribution Point folder and subfolder names a certain patch is (or get a list of all patches under a certain distribution folder).

As an example, on the DP in the SMSPKGG$ folder , I have a folder named RD100492, in that I have a folder named fec8fc58-7ccd-48fe-a16f-ec5eddafef8f, and in that I have the patch named ie8-windowsxp-kb2964358-x86-custom-enu.exe.  I'd like to be able to run a report to find where that patch is in the folder structure and also to be able to list everything under a certain folder.

I've searched through the Views and Tables, but, can't seem to find the right columns.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

SCUP Certificate

I would rather use a cert from my PKI than a self-signed cert from my WSUS box. Do you have a doc similar to this one:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb694035.aspx

for creating this certificate and importing it? The Doc's on this process in the .chm file and technet site dont consider if you want to use your own PKI.

SCCM 2007-software update synchronizatoin

Hi All,

Due to some activity happened in our organisation the software update point is  really messed up. Hence i had to delete and re-create the SUP on remote server in SCCM but when i am checking the logs its only showing deleting expired updates. Also, i m not able to see the WSUS admin console as well. It is always throwing me out with the error. restart server node.I was thinking to completely uninstall the WSUS point and than try to re-install it and than create an SUP point. Will this be a good approach or WSUS uninstallation may effect any other site system role installation in SCCM environment?

I'm in a hierarchy structure in SCCM 2007, a package of updates was created and copied to the DPs of the hierarchy, after a while the package was removed in DPs, but in 1 primary site did not remove the package and the package contained in their DPs, how do I remove this package at the primary site and its DPs?

I have SCCM 2007 SP2 on a windows 2008 R2 server. The server is the primary site as well as the DP, FSP, MP, and SUP.

I have successfully deployed one single update. Ever since then I have been seeing this in my windowsupdate.log right after the deadline for the updates:

I have gone through every technet article on here about 0x80244019 and my problem remains unsolved.

In my GPO I have set the 'Specify intranet Microsoft update service location' to point to my SUP.

What can I do to resolve this problem?

I have a new WSUS 3.0 Server that we will be using as a stand-alone WSUS environment. Can I just delete the SUP role from the site Server? Is there anything else that will need to be done?

The clients are not receiving updates anymore.

After I had a problem in the WSUS and IIS, the updates just stopped of being download in the clients. I use SCCM 2007 to deploy the updates. I looked for help in several different forums with no success, I've extract the logs from WindowsUpdate.log. Any Idea?

Hi All,

Is it possible to sync older updates in the SCCM 2007 R2?. If yes than can some one share the links or any information on the same. That would be really helpful.

Hi All,

I can see some on the software updates that are showing in "red mark" , but actually when i check the status of updates they are not expired. When i try to download or install those updates they are not getting downloaded SCCM throws an error message as configuration manager throws an error message. Can anyone share the details on how we can re-claim these software updates.

Regards,
