SCCM patch applicability evaluation process

Hi Guys,

As we all know that patch applicability detection method for software updates makes our life easier, but in some cases where it says patch "not required" for the systems. But when you install manually on the machine, it gets installed.

For example, KB2264107 update for Windows server 2008 R2 x64 based systems.

In what basis, the "patch applicability detection" method is been carried out by WSUS/SCCM?

Could you guys please guys explain ??
