Software Updates "configmgr provider error"

Hi All,

I have a SCCM SP2 R2 infrastructure in mixed mode on a Windows Server R2 OS, and I am experiencing problems with software updates.

Looking at the various logs and statues messages WSUS and SCCM is communicating. Launching the “Run synchronise” action the updates are downloaded to the WSUS content folder, and the WSUS database is growing in size.

·        The problem is, when I create a Software Update package, or try to create download the updates via the SCCM to create update list. An error is generated “The ConfigMgr Provider reported an error”.

·        The logs indicate that the package can’t be created.

I have removed the WSUS roles and the Software Updates Role from SCCM, reinstalled the Roles, using various suggested uninstall processes and still no luck.

Any ideas?
