Before I begin let me admit that I am not entirely sure if this is right forum for this question
I have deployed IE8 as update through SCCM to Windows XP device that have IE7 (really old school I know)
However after the installation is complete in the Add Remove Programs on the device it shows IE8 but when I check through SCCM client centre it shows IE7 and IE8 within Inventory Actions - Add Remove Programs.
Also when some of the users try and access what is supposedly IE8, it shows an Error 54 and they are unable to access anything
But after they have rebooted the device manually, it works fine.
My question is how can I force a reboot after installing IE8 as an update through SCCM (i was under the impression that if an updates requires a reboot, it should happen automatically but it does not seem to happen in this case)?
Any help in this will be appreciated
