software updates evaluation via script

hi guys,

I've had a number of computers failing to install updates this month.  I seem to be able to kick off a manual evaluation scan on any of the machines using SCCM client center and it now seems to work and install the updates.  using the toolsets around I can only really do one at a time and I need to hit around 500.

I would like a script that triggers the software update evaluation process so that I can advertise this to all 500 at once.

folk have mentioned using a TS which I tried, which works, but it decided to reboot the computer at the end of installing the updates, which I dont want....

if anyone has a vb/powershell/ any script that can do this without forcing a reboot at the end....?

As you can run the eval via SCCM client Center for 1 client at a time, there must be a background command running for that which triggers it.... just need to know what it is.

thanks for help,

doug
