I would like understand the work flow of multiple patch deployments received by any SCCM client.
For instance, we plan to deploy monthly patch by creating seperate "Update groups" for each month and create new deployment for each month with deadline for the deployment and Maintenence window in place for the target collection.
I would like to know how patching happens on a new computer added to the network which has not be patched for months..Which patch gets installed first or what is the order in which the patches are downloaded and installed.Is the patch download in sequence.
(My understanding is based on the scan results, irrespective or the number of target deployment the client manages a single 'required' patch list from all the targeted deployments and starts downloading from the oldest patch that is required. ) - Correct me if i am wrong.
I am not able to find any related link that explains this scenario , please share me any link or document supporting this scenario.
