Team,

SCCM 2007

In my setup, i have created the collection in the below way

- Active clients - Limited to Workstations and Professional systems

- All active clients - Unlimited

- All non- clients - unlimited

I have done the client push method on "All non-clients collection" and finished the wizard. Then, i noticed that All non clients are not limited and it will query all the collections including servers. So, again i have changed the collection query to Limited to Workstations and Professional systems for All non-clients.

Am i doing right here? how the effect will take?

Also, will this client install method require a reboot.?

Hello--

We are currently experiencing an issue with our workstations not rebooting during the defined maintenance windows (twice a month, 11pm-3am).

We are currently on SCCM 2007 R3 and we are using the maintenance windows for reboots after updates have installed during the day.  Many workstations are rebooting during the configured window, but we have a large number of workstations that are 'Pending system reboot'.

What logs or status messages would I need to look at to determine why these machines have not rebooted?

When I click the download button in SCCM 2012 it processes for a while but then fails with Error 4115. What is caussing this?

Running SCCM 2012 RC.

Setting up Software Updates as per this guide:

Downloading the Software Updates fails with the error "The Deploy Software Updates Wizard completed with errors - Access is Denied"

Permissions on the share are correct:

• local admins - full access
• my login is local admin
• computer account is local admin

NTFS permissions are also correct.

I've seen this problem posted in other forums, all of whicvh say to make sure the share permissions are correct, which they are.

I've also managed to create a share in the same folder structure for Endpoint Definition Updates, so the process worked previously.

What on earth is going wrong?

Hi Guys,

I often get the below error in 'updatesdeployment.log' during software updates deployment and i'm unable to find the proper solution in internet.

"Job error (0x80244023) received for assignment"

Though the error says its related to the HTTP 504 error (HTTP status 504 - the request was timed out waiting for a gateway), but i could observe some client were able to do evaluation for the updates. Please suggest.

Hi,

I am new to SCCM 2007, I would like to know the answers for the below question:

1. I do not find Product "Windows Server 2012" under Software Update Point Component in SCCM 2007. how can i get this as a product. Should i just run Synchoronization in SCCM 2007 or in WSUS ?

If i have do the above in WSUS:
2. How do i know which WSUS servers is connected to the SCCM server. Is there any settings options with in SCCM to find out which wsus server its talking with ?

3. Can also share the step by step instruction on  how can i Create a W2K12 image, to deploy via our WSUS server with PXE boot ??

Please answer these asap, and help me.

Hi All,

Can the user login/access the machine during a maintenance window and if yes how do i prevent them from logging in at that time? Can this be done from SCCM itself? Also, by user logging in, can the update result in a failure? Thank you.

I'm trying to get Windows 8 updates working for deployment with SCCM 2007 R2, and seem to be running into a problem with SCCM updating the new product categories.

On my WSUS server I have applied the latest patch which is needed for this (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2734608/en-us), and run a synchronisation and have the Windows 8 and Server 2012 Categories listed. On my SCCM 2007 server i have run a synchronisation many times, but still just have the old product categories listed.

When i create a search folder for these categories, they list the old updates (for consumer preview/server 8 beta). Why are these updating, has anyone else seen this?

On the update patch details it does mention that if any Windows 8 or Server 2012 client have sycronised with WSUS before the patch was applied then the software repository directory should be deleted. Is it possible this could be the case with the SCCM 2007 server somehow?

Anyone come across this before?

Hi All,

In my architecture there are around 10% systems with compliance state unknown. However software distribution is working on them. I tried Reboot, stop/start of WU service,BITS service, deleting softwaredistribution folder, running "Software Updates Scan Cycle/Software Updates Deployment Evaluation Cycle/RefreshServerComplianceState". Hi all,

we've deployed Office 2010 Service Pack 1with an SCCM package.
The strange thing is that SCCM does not recognize the Update on almost all clients.
It's listed as missing, but when i search for all needed Updates on a Client manually with Windows Update it's not missing and i also see the Version number in Office

Any ideas?

We had a VM server.  The hardware it lived on died.  New hardware was installed.  A new VM server was built with the exact same name as it had before.   The SCCM client was installed on this newly built VM.  The SCCM client is healthy.   This newly built server is a member of our Server Collection that gets Software Update Patches.   Yet the software updates never install.   I run "software updates deployment evaluation cycle" and it shows this in the log file.

I am trying to install KB2750782/hotfix for being able to obtain Windows 8 & Server 2012 and keep receiving the error "Software Update for ConfigMgr 2007 SP2 (KB27507820) Setup Wizard ended prematurely

We are using SCCM 2007 Software Updates to deploy updates to our clients. We are facing the following problem:

If in one existing deployment an update expires, this update will not deployed furthermore to our clients.

In Technet (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb632404.aspx) you can find the following description:

Operational Concerns:  Expired software updates should be replaced when possible.Expired software updates that have been deployed continue to work and will continue to be tracked for software update compliance.Expired software updates are considered "not required" for reporting purposes.

In our case clients do not get the expired updates. In our Deployment we have set a deadline for the update and the clients are added to the target collection for the deployment. The deployment exists with the same settings before the updates are expired. The clients get all updates but the expired (no difference if the deadline is reached).

Can anyone explain what happens or have I misunderstood the MS article?

Since a few days, I get errors when synchronizing SCCM with the WSUS server. In wsyncmgr.log following errors appear:

*** [42000][701][Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]There is insufficient system memory to run this query. : sp_SetupSDMPackage

For this error, I tried the suggested solution in http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgrsum/thread/e45e72f5-cf1b-4089-8522-c686562bce95 but the server max mem has already it's maximum value

Next error is:

Failed to sync update 1847ae6d-8360-4e5a-9d15-da82b24deffd. Error: Failed to create SDM package Site_C4C56584-A6AC-4E0F-85E3-AF1ED3C1C96F/SUM_1fd4eb6d-808f-4693-bf9a-425fdc345c9a(2). CSDMTypeSource error: -1. Source: Microsoft.SystemsManagementServer.SoftwareUpdatesManagement.UpdatesManager.UpdatesManagerClass.DefineUpdate

I haven't found anything related to this error yet.

These 2 error messages appear for 5 updates and the the synchronization fails because of too many consecutive failures.

I'm struggling a few days with these errors, any suggestions on how to resolve this?
